Also known as Gender affirming or sex reassignment surgery. This procedure gives transgender or non-binary people the physical appearance and functional abilities to align with the gender they know themselves to be.
Prior to undergoing GCS / GRS you must have had a persistent and constant desire to live as a female/male for at least 2 years and undergone Psychiatric assessment for at least 2 years. You must demonstrate your ability to live as a female/male for at least 1 year – REAL Life Experience, before considering surgery. It is very important that you have good support from family, friends or partner prior to and following your Male to Female GCS, GRS. Patients who are significantly overweight or obese are not good candidates for Male to Female GCS. You should be realistic as to what can be achieved by GCS and understand the risks and side effects of this surgery.Because GCS / GRS is irreversible it is essential to ensure that this surgery is right for you and is in your best interest.
You will need to bring al your psychological paperwork and reports so our psychologist and doctors can review them because you will also be evaluated here upon arrival and before surgery.
We will perform CBC Blood Test, Blood Chemistry, Anti-doping and HIV test before surgery as well as an EKG. Please come prepared for surgery. The best way to prepare for surgery is:
• Eat Healthy Foods and Drink Lots of Water
• Avoid High Sugar Foods, High Fatty Foods, Alcohol and Cigarettes for 3 weeks before surgery
• Excercise for 1 hour starting 3 weeks before surgery
• Vitamin suppliments are ok
Depending on your desired results or type of surgery you wish, different types of procedures are performed. Please contact us so we can help you decide wich procedure is best for you.
After deciding which procedure is best for you antibiotics and pain medication will be administered to you during your stay that can be 1-3 hospital night’s stay after surgery.
Normal activities can be resumed after your doctor’s instructions and recommendations.
Following are some common after-care instructions:
• Take the prescribed medications like antibiotics and pain medications to alleviate any discomfort.
• Daily showers
• 4 weeks after surgery you can start any physical activity gradually.
• Drink plenty of fluids
• Take adequate rest
• Keep checking up with your doctor
Yes you can, our team will assist and accommodate you in any way possible but it is always better if you also bring someone for emotional support.
Our Doctors are located in Mexicali BC Mexico and Tijuana BC Mexico. We can provide transportation from San Diego CA or Yuma AZ ( round trip ) and assist you with Lodging and logistics.
We advise you consider a minimum of 1 week after your surgery so you can physically be here for your first doctor’s evaluation. After this evaluation the doctor will give you the all clear for travel and further on line appointments.
