Who is a Candidate?

Anyone who wants to improve their buccal hygine and protect their teeth from any kind of problems such as chipped, cracked, misshapen, discolored or decaying teeth.

Preparation

A consultation is needed to evaluate the severity of your tooth problem. An X-ray will be most likely taken to help the evaluation. And discuss the proper treatment for your problem.

Surgery Details

Placing a crown is a minimal invasive procedure. So pain will not be a problem.
The doctor will apply proper anesthesia to avoid discomfort. He or she will proceed to fix your problem, file down or remove the damaged portion of your tooth. After this is done a mouth impression will be taken to design your crown and be sent to the lab. A temporary crown is placed.

You will need to come back in a couple of days after your permanent crown is finished and color matched with your other teeth to be placed and secured.

After Surgery

After your procedure it is very important to keep your area clean. So your doctor will most likely prescribe you pain medication, antibiotics and an antibacterial mouthwash to keep germs and bacteria controlled. If during your visit a permanent crown is needed and not placed, you will need to avoid chewing any kind of food on the treated tooth until you have your permanent crown placed.

Home Recovery

In case of pain relievers and antibiotics will be prescribed. A soft diet will also be recommended to avoid discomfort.
